Thank You!

Thanks to those who:

planted trees...(sometimes in the rain!)
...tutored school children
   ...sorted food donations
      ...mentored immigrant job seekers
         ...served meals at soup kitchens
            ...cleaned up parks
...helped to restore shellfish to waterways
...spent time working to preserve cultural history
                     ...taught arts and crafts

and so much more!

We are thankful that over 3,500 Yale alumni and friends came together to work side-by-side in service all over the world for the 2010 Yale Day of Service.  At more than 250 sites in 39 states and 20 countries, members of the Yale community embodied the University's great tradition of service in giving back.  Local communities were changed by the Yale alumni who live and work there.

And we know that for many of those who came out for the Yale Day of Service, these acts were just one moment of service in lives that find ways to serve their communities throughout the year.  As a result of the inagural Yale Day of Service last year, many Yale clubs and individuals have found new ways to give back locally with ongoing contributions of time and energy to local causes, and we are certain that will be the case for many who were involved this year as well.

So thanks, again, for time well spent and jobs well done; you are leaders for Yale in the best kind of way.

Mark your calendars for next year...please join us for the next Yale Day of Service on May 14, 2011!
