Location:

40 Division Street

Description:

The Yung Wing School is located in the heart of Chinatown and serves over 950 students from pre-K through 5th grade.  The school is named after Yung Wing, the first Asian to study at Yale and the first Asian to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from any American university (in 1854).

Volunteers are needed to plant a flower and vegetable garden, organize the library and book rooms, and overall “beautification” of the school in anticipation of the 35th anniversary fund-raising campaign in 2011. Young adults ages 13 and up are welcome. Suggested site donation:   $20 for non-students

A light breakfast and lunch will be provided by the school.
